On the auspicious day of Ram Navami, the forehead of Lord Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya Temple was adorned with the radiant rays of the sun, known as Surya Tilak. This remarkable feat was achieved through a complex mechanism involving mirrors and lenses, which was successfully tested by scientists the day before. It was the first Ram Navami celebration since the consecration of the Ram idol in Ayodhya temple, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22. The size of the planned tilak on the forehead was 58 mm, and the duration of the tilak on the center of the forehead was approximately three to three-and-a-half minutes, with two minutes of full illumination, as stated by a senior scientist from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee.
Meanwhile, during his election rally in Assam's Nalbari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the significance of the day and the historic event taking place. Amidst the chants of ‘Jai Siyavar Ram’, he expressed, "Today is a momentous occasion of Ram Navami. After a wait of 500 years, Lord Ram has finally been enshrined in his magnificent temple." In the sacred city of Ayodhya, the Ram Temple is once again filled with joyous celebrations. Following the splendid pran pratishtha ceremony, Ram Navami is being honored with great fervor at the Ram Mandir. A total of 56 types of bhog, prasad, and panjiri are being offered to commemorate this occasion.
