The BCCI has finally addressed the issue of the Indian cricket team's jersey for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Reports claimed that the team would not use the logo of 'Pakistan,' the designated host country, on its jersey. Traditionally, the official logo of an ICC event includes the host country's name. When Pakistan hosted the 2023 World Cup, their team wore jerseys with the host country's name. The 2025 Champions Trophy was initially scheduled to be held in Pakistan, but after India refused to travel there, the matches were shifted to Dubai. The BCCI reportedly does not want 'Pakistan' written on the Indian team's kit, citing the 'host nation regulation.' However, the ICC has reportedly informed the Indian board that the team is required to have 'Pakistan' on its kit, as the country is the original host of the tournament.

The Indian cricket team will adhere to the uniform guidelines set by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the upcoming Champions Trophy. The Indian cricket board stated that they will strictly follow all ICC rules regarding the team's logo and dress code, just like the other participating teams. The relationship between the Indian and Pakistani cricket boards has been tense in recent months, particularly after India declined to send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. However, a compromise was eventually reached, though the Indian board may have to pay a significant fee in the future when India hosts certain ICC events. The name of the host country, Pakistan, is not displayed on the players' uniforms. According to ICC regulations, teams must have the name of the host nation printed on their jerseys, regardless of the location where the matches are being played.
