The Vijayawada Congress MP, Lagadapati Rajagopal--who is often in news for stirring up controversies—predicted the fortune of the state yet another time by stating that the Centre is going to announce a clear cut statement on Telangana issue by the end of this August.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Lagadapati has said that the statement that’s going to be announced by the Centre would make 80 per cent of people in the state happy. The MP has said that they would appeal the public in the 18 constituencies—where the bypolls are scheduled to take place—to believe the Congress party and strengthen it.
Elucidating his election strategy, Lagadapati has mentioned that he, along with other few Congress leaders, would undertake Padayatra (campaign on foot) to seek votes from the public. He has also said that the Congress is looking at Telangana issue as a sensitive one.
These statements of Lagadapati gave rise to interesting discussions in the state. While Lagadapati—who is a supporter of unified state—made these statements, another Congress senior leader Jana Reddy (on the same day) stated that the formation of T cannot be stopped by any force.
Well, people are reportedly thinking that these statements are mere political games being played by the Congress keeping in view the upcoming bypolls.
