Even before Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the US Congress, thousands gathered in Washington to protest against it. Demonstrators were seen carrying pro-Palestinian flags and displaying a range of messages, from left-wing slogans to Bible verses calling for a ceasefire and the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. On Wednesday, amid the protests, Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress in the House Chamber, emphasizing the alliance between Israel and the United States. "When we fight Iran, we are fighting the most radical and murderous enemy of the United States of America," Netanyahu declared in his speech. He added, "Our fight is your fight, and our victory is your victory." "America and Israel must stand together," he insisted. Netanyahu also claimed that Iran is funding the protests happening around the USA, stating, "You have officially become Iran's useful idiots."

Netanyahu received a standing ovation for his speech from many in attendance. However, several lawmakers, including Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib, remained seated. Meanwhile, protesters outside the US Capitol described the event as "sorrowful.” Protestors turned more aggressive later and left maggots at the hotel where Netanyahu was staying. On the flipside, Kamala Harris countered Netanyahu’s devastation in Gaza. She told the public that she would not be silent. Netanyahu had met American president Joe Biden on Thursday followed by Kamala Harris. After the meeting, Kamala Harris took the lead to address the public and warned about the Gaza war and civil casualties.
