Energetic Star Ram had high hopes on Skanda, an action entertainer directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The film carried massive expectations and it was released on September 28th across the globe. The film underperformed because of the poor word of mouth and negative talk. The film's theatrical rights are sold for Rs 50 crores and the film collected a share of Rs 26.75 crores in its first week across the globe which is quite low. With a number of films releasing this weekend, it would be tough for Skanda to recover the investments.
Sree Leela is the leading lady and Thaman is the music composer. Srinivasaa Silver Screen produced Skanda and the film is made on a massive budget. The makers recovered a major amount through the non-theatrical rights. The distributors would suffer losses. Here are the areawise collections of Skanda for first week:
