Allu Arjun arrested in Sandhya Theatre Case

The Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been arrested in connection with a deadly stampede outside a Hyderabad theater last week, where one woman died. The stampede occurred after the popular actor made a surprise appearance at the theater screening his new film "Pusha 2: The Rule." Hyderabad Police filed charges, including culpable homicide and voluntarily causing hurt, against Allu Arjun and others, including his security team and the theater management. A 35-year-old woman was killed, and her 9-year-old son was injured as the large crowd rushed and pushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun's unexpected arrival at the theater, along with the film's music director, Devi Sr Prasad. The police commissioner stated that the theater management and the actors' team did not provide any prior notice of their visit, and the theater did not have separate entry or exit arrangements, despite knowing about their planned arrival. Allu Arjun reached the theater at 9:30 pm.

The famous personality used the main entrance and spent about 15-20 minutes outside. A large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of him. His security team tried to push the crowd back, which made the situation worse. A woman named Revathi and her son felt suffocated and were pulled out of the crowd by police, who provided emergency medical care and transported them to a nearby hospital.

By this time, the celebrity had already entered the theatre, but the crowd continued to grow in the lobby. Responding to the stampede and the woman's tragic death, the celebrity later expressed deep sorrow and offered his sincere condolences to the grieving family. He also announced a financial assistance of ₹ 25 lakh for the woman's family and promised to cover the medical expenses of her critically ill son.
