The final of the Asia Cup 2022 took place last evening between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Both these teams had a remarkable series and Pakistan won the toss, and elected to bowl first. Sri Lanka reported 170 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs in the final. Bhanuka Rajapaksa (71 not out), Wainindu Hasaranga (36) and Dhananjaya de Silva (28) are the top scorers for the side. Sri Lanka got a respectable score on board. Haris Rauf (3/29), Iftikhar Ahmed (1/21) and Shadab Khan (1/28) bagged the wickets among the bowlers of Pakistan.

Chasing a target of 171, Pakistan fell flat and went all out for 147 in their 20 overs. Mohammad Rizwan (55), Iftikhar Ahmed (32) and Haris Rauf (13) are the top scorers among the batsmen of Pakistan. The favorite team lost the match to Sri Lanka by 23 runs. Pramod Madushan (4/34), Wanindu Hasaranga (3/27) and Chamika Karunaratne (2/33) bagged the wickets among the Sri Lanka bowlers. The match took place in Dubai International Stadium. Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been named as the Player of the Match while Wanindu Hasaranga is announced as the Player of the Asia Cup 2022.
