The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that it will not agree to a hybrid model for hosting the next year's Champions Trophy. This decision comes just before the ICC's crucial board meeting to finalize the schedule for the major tournament, which is planned to be held in Pakistan. According to a source, the PCB initially suggested that it would accept a hybrid model if the same arrangement was applied to all ICC events in India until 2031. However, the PCB has now made it clear that the hybrid model is unacceptable to them.

The Indian cricket team is not obligated to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, according to ICC regulations. The Pakistan Cricket Board recognizes the BCCI and the Indian market's role in generating revenue for the ICC, but Pakistan has also significantly contributed to ICC's earnings through their matches against India. India has not visited Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, citing security concerns, and the ICC has stated it will not ask any member board to go against their government's guidance.
