Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming next Happy New Year to be directed by Farha Khan will be filmed exclusive in Dubai, revealed industry officials. This will be the first Bollywood film ever to be shot entirely in the UAE.
Affirming the news, Jamal Al Sharif, chairman of Dubai Film And TV Commission (DFTC) said, “It will be the first time where an entire Bollywood feature is shot in Dubai. It’s a dream come true.”
“Shah Rukh’s movie Happy New Year has been in discussion over a year. Last year, I met [director] Farah Khan who wanted to know more about shooting in Dubai. I was like: ‘Farah, tell me what you want’. Also, for Shah Rukh, Dubai is like a second home and having him give Dubai this credibility is important to us,” added Al Sharif.
Farah Khan, who had previously dished out blockbusters like “Main Hoon Na” and “Om Shanti Om” with King Khan, is expected to visit Dubai next Wednesday to scout for locations. The film, that will be mostly shot indoors, is expected to go on the floors next month. A massive crew of 200 team members will assist Farah in this project.
