Last year, Huawei amazed fans of smartphones with the debut of the first-ever triple-screen foldable device, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design. In response, Samsung is poised to enter the fray by launching its own tri-fold smartphone. At the recently held Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, the South Korean company provided a sneak peek of this innovative multi-fold phone. Fresh information has emerged online that suggests what the device might be called. It appears that the Samsung Tri-fold phone will feature a 10-inch display. A tipster known as Yeux1122, writing on the South Korean platform Naver, hinted that this upcoming multi-fold phone could be named the “Galaxy G Fold,” aligning with the naming convention of the Z Fold series. The tipster referenced insights from industry insiders and display expert Ross Young, indicating that the phone is anticipated to launch in January of the following year. The alleged Galaxy G Fold is expected to sport a 9.96-inch display, which is larger than the 7.6-inch screen found on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When folded, it is said to have dimensions of 6.54 inches. The folding technology in this new Samsung device is reported to differ from that of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, as it supposedly allows the screen to fold inward from both sides.

According to the blog, the weight of the Galaxy G Fold is expected to be comparable to “H,” which might refer to the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design. Nevertheless, this tri-foldable phone from Samsung is predicted to be marginally thicker. Additionally, the Galaxy G Fold is likely to incorporate newly engineered displays and advanced protective films. At the recent Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Jay Kim, the Head of Products and Experiences Office at Samsung, provided a brief insight into the highly anticipated tri-folding device. The company is expected to produce around 300,000 units of this foldable smartphone, which is rumored to come with a significant price tag.
