KFC drops its iconic 'Finger Lickin Good' slogan in the wake of COVID-19

Famous food chain KFC has dropped its most used slogan ‘finger lickin good’ which has been in use for six decades as it felt the use is not right in the current environment.
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), the most famous and desired food chain across the world has taken a remarkable decision lately by suspending its famous slogan ‘finger lickin good’ owing to the seriousness of coronavirus pandemic across the world.
Global Chief Marketing Officer of KFC, Catherine while speaking to the CNN Business said that the company finds itself in a unique situation where its iconic slogan does not fit the current times of COVID-19.
The slogan has been in use by KFC for 64 years and it is the first time that it had to suspend it.
The company has come up with a new working slogan that would suit the current times where wearing masks and following social distancing and hand washing is ultimately necessary for the human good.
A KFC official said that though we are doing away with the finger lickin slogan, there would be no compromise on the quality or taste of the food which is everyone’s favorite since years.
The menu of KFC is also not changing and the company would bring back the slogan when the time is right for the world.
Acknowledging the need to move on with certain changes sometimes, the company is now releasing posters with finger lickin blurred in its posters where only ‘it’s good’ will be visible for now.
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus, the company had earlier pulled out the ads featuring the iconic slogan in them.
This decision by the marketing department of KFC came after people have raised multiple complaints against the featured montage where people are seen licking their fingers in the ads and posters.
KFC had also temporarily closed down itas branches across the world in March owing to a rise in coronavirus cases globally. However, with time the company has opened its outlets in many parts of the world now and follows safety precautions in every outlet the company has across the world.
KFC and Mc Donalds are two of the best food chain outlets across the world which is serving the customers with appetizing food to all its customers.
Coronavirus cases in the world have crossed 3 million cases already with the recoveries reaching about 2.4 million. The death toll across the world has crossed 58,390 cases till now.
