Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos aerospace company Blue Origin aim at taking the first woman on the moon.
For the takeoff of the rocket, preparations are in full swing. Jeff Bezos gives us a view of how the rocket engine was being tested in one his videos on instagram.
On Friday, he shared a short clip of powerful flames out of the engine during the test. This video was from a test at NASA's Space Flight Center at Hunstville, Alabama.
Bezos describes the BE-7 engine as "high-performance", it weighs around 10,000 pounds, and it’s lunar landing engine was a "liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen".
Furthermore, this engine can decline to 2,000 pound-force for a "precise landing" on the moon.
This engine will strengthen the Human Landing System (HLS) lander that Blue Origin has been working with NASA's Artemis programme to put humans on the lunar surface by 2024.
