Megastar Chiranjeevi was keen to remake Lucifer which was a super hit film in Malayalam. The film featuring Mohanlal was dubbed into Telugu and released in theatres. But Chiranjeevi is keen to take up the remake. Directors like VV Vinayak and Sujeeth worked on the scripts but Chiranjeevi wasn't impressed with the narration. Chiranjeevi was in talks with Mohan Raja, Tamil director and son of Editor Mohan. Mohan Raja recently met Chiranjeevi and narrated the final script.

It is heard that Chiranjeevi is extremely impressed with the narration and he gave his nod. The regular shoot of Lucifer remake will commence from January and a small schedule will be wrapped up. The major portions of the film will be completed once Chiranjeevi completes the shoot of Koratala Siva's Acharya. Rana Daggubati plays a special role in Lucifer remake that will release for Dasara 2021. NV Prasad along with Konidela Production Company are the producers. Chiranjeevi is also in talks for the remake of Vedhalam that will be directed by Meher Ramesh.
