The United States President Donald Trump's administration has instructed immigration agents to give parents, who are separated from their kids under "zero tolerance" policy two options: leave the country with your kids or leave the country without them, following a tribunal order to reunite more than 2,000 migrant children who were separated from their parents in May and June.

The new pronouncement does not permit separated parents from their children under "zero tolerance" policy, introduced by Trump, to reunite with their children while they look for a conclusion on asylum.

Immigrants agents, under the policy, have been instructed to separate children from their parents who caught crossing U.S. border illegally. However, on June 20 Trump reversed the move by signing an executive order to halt family separations, merely failing to provide a clear-cut path toward reunion for more than 2,300 children who had already been detached.

After signing an executive order, children and parents are being kept together in detention centers.

According to asylum law, the immigrants should be permitted to make an asylum claim before a judge even if they have been given an order of deportation. The proponents of Immigration rights say that involuntarily making parents choose instantly between leaving the country with or without their children means they are effectively prevented from seeking asylum.

"A child should never be held hostage to force a parent to relinquish their legal right to seek asylum," said Wendy Young, president of Kids in Need of Defense (KIND).

The families who entered the U.S. after Trump ended parent-child separations are being confined in family detention centers while waiting for a judgment on asylum or deportation. The petition by the Justice Department stated in a separate court case that the government should be allowed to hold children with their parents indefinitely
