A delegation of the Telangana congress leaders met party president Sonia Gandhi at her residence in Delhi today and urged her to take an immediate decision on the Telangana issue.
The T congress leaders explained about the growing number of suicides in the Telangana region and stressed on the need to find a quick solution to the nagging issue. The leaders talked of the frustration of the people of Telangana in general and Congress leaders in particular over the inordinate delay in taking a decision on the imbroglio.
Reports said the party president had heard them patiently but didn’t give any assurances on the issue. “The party senior leaders are seized of the matter and are trying to find a solution. I am not supposed to react on the issue at this juncture,” she reportedly told them.
Reports said the Congress delegation, consisting of Ponnam Prabhakar, Balya Naik, Manda Jagannadham, Rajaiah and Madhu Yashki Goud, has also lodged a complaint against Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy saying he has not been granting funds for the projects in Telangana area. (J)
