Singing the same old tune, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said today the Centre could not do any thing on Telangana due to lack of clarity among the political parties in the state on the issue.
Responding to the din being created by the TRS, TDP and Congress members of the Telangana region over the issue in the Lok Sabha for the last two days, Chidambaram said the solution lies in the hands of the political parties in the state.
“What is the use of convening an all party meeting on the issue when the parties in the state don’t have any clarity over it? If there had been an iota of clarity among the state’s political parties, I could have convened an all party meeting to find a solution,” he said.
Besides, there is a demand for creation of separate Rayalaseema state, he said, adding, there couldn’t be a solution if everyone goes on demanding a separate state.
Chidambaram recently said the APCC, TDP, Majlis party and the YSR Congress have so far not made their stand clear on the issue. (J)
