Amid speculative reports that the Congress high command is looking for a suitable politician to replace the low profile Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy, a flurry of activity took place in the chambers of the Panchayat Raj Minister Jana Reddy at the Secretariat today.
Former Ministers JC Diwakar Reddy, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Ministers DL Ravindra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana met Jana reddy in his chambers early in the morning and discussed the unfolding political developments.
Speaking to media persons later, Jana Reddy said he was not hankering after the post of CM. “More than anything else, Telangana is important to me,” he said, adding, he along with other senior leaders of the T region would go to Delhi in the next three days and meet the high command to seek immediate decision on Telangana formation.
Jana reddy, who earlier declared he was well qualified to become CM but was not seeking the post, said it was not easy to hold the post. “It is not easy to work as CM, especially in the present scenario,” he observed.
All problems will be solved if Telangana is created, he said. “We will put more pressure on the party and the Centre this time as people expect us to achieve the separate state without fail.” (J)
