After launching Apple 14 series, Apple is out with the most awaited iOS 16 and watch OS 9 which is rolled out for eligible devices last night. iOS 16 is first rolled out for the public beta or developer beta version of the software. The update is of 3 GB in size for iPhone users. It will come with a reimagined Lock Screen which offers several personalization features right from the widgets. It offers new updates to Maps app and iMessage. There are new fitness tracking features added to watch OS9 like more metrics for heart rate and elevation data.
iPhones with 14, 13, 12 and 11 series will support iOS 16. The others that support iOS 16 are iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone SE Gen 2 and iPhone SE Gen 3. The users can go the Settings and Wallpaper and then tap on add Wallpaper to change the lock screen. There are lot of options available for wallpaper and lock screen. One can change the tap and font or colour for the time widget. iOS 16 also comes with a new passkey feature and it is designed to replace the passwords. They are created in association with FIDO Alliance, Microsoft and Google. For iPad users, you will have to wait for a longer time for iOS 16.
OS 9 is available for all the Apple watch users. Workouts will have lot of changes including the ring information and the activity. One can turn on the Digital Crown and you can work, recover intervals on yourself.
