On Wednesday, Apple released the iOS 18.2 update for iPhones worldwide. It comes a day after iOS 18.2 Release Candidate (RC) 2, which expands on the Apple Intelligence features previously introduced by the Cupertino tech company. The latest update includes Image Playground, Genmoji and ChatGPT integration. It also includes a new visual search feature that is exclusive to the iPhone 16 series and extends the availability of Apple's artificial intelligence (AI) suite to multiple languages. According to Apple, all iPhone models compatible with the first iOS 18 update can download the latest iOS 18.2 update. However, Apple Intelligence features are limited to the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max series. Expansion is planned for English-speaking destinations such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The AI package is available on iPhones worldwide, except for China and the EU, but will be released in early April next year.

In a press release, Apple described the new features coming to iPhone devices with the iOS 18.2 update. One highlight is Image Playground, a new stand-alone app that combines three functions and offers users more opportunities for self-expression. It uses generative artificial intelligence to create uniquely styled images, such as animation or illustration, based on textual stimuli. There is also Genmoji, which has similar features but works with emoticons. According to Apple, the images and emojis you create can be shared in apps like Messages, Notes, and Keynote. Image Wand, on the other hand, turns a rough sketch into a proper image in the Notes app, similar to Samsung's artificial intelligence sketch-to-image feature. You can create an in-app image from handwritten or typed text using the artificial intelligence models built into the device.

Apple introduced the lighting tool in iOS 18.1 in October and the latest iOS 18.2 update has expanded its functionality. A new Change Description option has been added to allow users to specify their desired changes, such as: B. Make changes more dynamic or rewrite them in the form of a poem. This tool complements the existing rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing tools available system-wide and in third-party applications. iPhone 16 series users can now take advantage of the new visual intelligence features. According to Apple, it is an intuitive search tool that instantly recognizes objects and locations using new camera controls. You can summarize and copy text, translate between languages, and find phone numbers and email addresses and add them to contacts. You can also search for your favorite products on Google, solve math equations, or simply ask ChatGPT for more information.

Here comes ChatGPT on the iPhone. Siri, Apple's voice assistant, can now leverage OpenAI's AI chatbot capabilities to give users more accurate answers to questions and give them the ability to understand documents and images. Siri can suggest users access to ChatGPT and provide direct answers to specific queries. Additionally, you can generate content using native authoring tools. Apple says the feature requires optional sign-in, and iPhone users with a paid ChatGPT account can use that account to access more powerful OpenAI models. The company emphasizes that OpenAI does not store requests or use data to train models. It also hides IP addresses to prevent sessions from being linked together.

According to Apple, Apple's smart features will continue to expand in the coming months. Siri recognizes the situation and reacts individually. It also claims that the new on-screen actions will be visible across all Apple and third-party apps. Other expected features include priority notifications and new layout styles in the Image Playground.
