MC Mary Kom, the renowned Indian boxer, has clarified that she has not yet retired from the sport, contrary to rumors circulating on the internet. In response to these claims, she expressed her disappointment at being misquoted by the media. Mary Kom made it clear that she will personally address the media when she decides to make any retirement announcements. She went on to refute the media reports that suggested she had already retired, stating that they were completely false. On the 24th of January 2024, while attending a school event in Dibrugarh, Mary Kom motivated children by saying that she still possesses a strong desire to achieve in sports.
However, due to the age restrictions in the Olympics, she is unable to participate, though she will continue her involvement in the sport. Mary Kom emphasized that she is currently focused on maintaining her fitness and will inform everyone when she decides to retire. She requested the media to correct their reports. As an Olympic medalist, Mary Kom has been an inspirational figure in Indian sports, making significant contributions to the world of boxing.
