Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli is playing his 100th test match and he is felicitated today in the presence on the team in Mohali where India is playing their first test match with Sri Lanka. After winning the toss India elected to bat first and the fans of Virat Kohli attended the test match in large numbers. Virat Kohli had another rare achievement to his name after he emerged as the sixth Indian cricketer to score 8000 runs in Test cricket. He is also the fifth-fastest batsman to achieve this among the Indian players. Kohli joined Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13288), Sunil Gavaskar (10122), VVS Laxman (8781) and Virender Sehwag (8586).

Virat Kohli is also the 33th batsman of the globe to cross 8000 runs in test cricket. After opening well, Virat Kohli scored 45 runs and departed in the first innings against Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli is also the 12th Indian player to complete 100 test matches and he is named after Sachin Tendulkar (200), Rahul Dravid (163), VVS Laxman (134), Anil Kumble (132), Kapil Dev (131), Sunil Gavaskar (125), Dilip Vengsarkar (116), Sourav Ganguly (113), Ishant Sharma (105), Harbhajan Singh (103), and Virender Sehwag (103).
