Australian Fast bowler Mitchell Starc will miss upcoming limited overs series against India.
Starc, suffered an injury in a match against Sri Lanka on 5th day of second test match in Canberra.
National Selector Trevor Hohns said on Thursday that, “Unfortunately, scans have revealed that Mitchell Starc sustained a substantial tear to his left pec muscle while bowling on the final day of the Test mach in Canberra. This means he will be unavailable for the tour of India, but we will instead target areturn to play for the ODI series against Pakistan in the UAE in March.”
Selector announced the team which tours India for Limited overs series.
Australian squad for T20I and ODI against India: Aaron Finch (c), Pat Cummins, Alex Carey, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Peter Handscomb, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Adam Zampa, D'Arcy Short.
Shaun Marsh will join the squad later in India due to the birth of his child. He is also recovering from a hamstring injury.
Series will start with with two T20Is on February 24 and 27 in Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru respectively.
And 5-match ODI series will commence from 1st ODI March 2 in Hyderabad, 2nd ODI March 5 (Nagpur), 3rd ODI March 8(Ranchi), 4th ODI March 10(Mohali), 5th ODI March 13(Delhi)
