With nearly a dozen releases hitting the theaters today, filmmakers are clamoring for a free Friday to launch their movie.

Buzz is that Akshay Kumar starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara's release was pushed to August 15 to avoid clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's biggie Chennai Express that will hit the theaters on August 9.

But as fate would have it, Akki will still have to battle it out with SRK at the theaters on August 9 as his  production venture 72 Miles Ek Pravas is slated for release on the same day. So the clash seems inevitable now.

“We will be releasing the film globally as we want to connect with not just the Indian community abroad, but a broader ethnicity, considering the subject of the film is quite relatable. I believe this film will be received well and will leave an impression on viewers,” says co-producer of 72 Miles Ek Pravas, Ashvini.

Further talking about the film, Ashvini said, “It is a period film with a hard-hitting subject. It throws light on some grim issues in our society that aren’t being addressed. But, at the same time, it is a journey of self-actualisation.”
