After nursing five long years of grudge, Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan seem to have finally buried the hatchet now, marking an end to one of the most talked about Bollywood spats ever.
Just recently, the two actors were caught hugging, shaking hands and even posing for the cameras at MLA Baba Siddique's Iftar party at Taj Lands End, held last Sunday. What makes it extra important is that it is the first time in the last five years that both the actors have acknowledged each others presence in public.
Salim Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were seated at the CM's table along with other ministers when Salman Khan walked in, greeting everybody. The actor then walked up to SRK, tapped his shoulder and extended his hand for a shake. SRK stood up and gave him a hug.
A source present said, “They did not speak after that. If Salman had ignored only Shah Rukh at the table, it would have been very uncomfortable for everyone present at the Iftar party. It was really gracious of him to make the first move.”
The actors, once thick pals, fought during Katrina Kaif's birthday five years ago and since then have remained hostile towards each other and have avoided each other like plague at all public ceremonies.
Whether the hug and the handshake will revive their old friendship is yet to be seen. But the gestures clearly marks the start.
