Former Minister P. Shankar Rao today condemned the transfer of the Additional Director (AD) of Anti Corruption of Bureau Srinivasa Reddy. He expressed his dissent over the issue at Hyderabad. The Minister said that just a week ago the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had commended the work of the ACB in the liquor scam. And within one week things have changed and the officer was transferred. He added that Mr Reddy was a sioncere officer who had put in tremendous effort in unearthing the liquor scam. The minister felt that toi safe guard some vested interests of the leaders the officer was made scapegoat.
The transfer of the officer has evoked ire of all political leaders alike. Most of the political speculators feel that there is only one hand behind the whole issue. But the transfer though termed as promotion has been in the heat of controversies. The initial controversy was that the scam listed many Ministers and officials of the Excise department. Then an officer from the Vijayanagaram District issued a notice that the AD had forced him to add Botsa and Co in his report. Because of this the officer asked the AD to issue compensation and an open apology. In the wake of such controversies the transfer is become a question of discomfort for the ruling party.
