The Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths probing the Liquor Scam in the state seemed to have taken Balaraj Goud in to custody. Sources on Tuesday informed that the key accused in the liquor scam had been at large since sometime and evaded arrest. The ACB has taken him into custody last night. The arrest seemed to have staged in a filmy style coup by the sleuths. The source also went on to say that the arrested liquor shop owner might be produced in court today by the agency, for gaining custody for interrogation.
Balaraj Goud a king pin in the liquor scam in Mahbubnagar owns nearly sixty shops and is a partner in more than 100 shops says sources. He had been evading the cops since sometime. Finally the sleuths caught up with him, after receiving information form a confident source.
The ACB shook the state with its liquor scam details. Nearly 23 FIRs have been registered and 10 excise officials suspended till now in connection with the case. The biggest embarrassment is the fact that the state's excise minister was named by an accused for taking bribes. Sources say two more Cabinet ministers, several legislators and top politicians are being probed. The documents that reveal the full extent of the scam only embarrass the state government further.
