Ingredients
thick beaten rice (poha): 2 cups
oil: 2 tsp
asafoetida (hing): 1/2 tsp
finely chopped onions: 1/2 cup
mustard seeds ( rai / sarson): 1/2 tsp
boiled green peas: 1/2 cup
turmeric powder (haldi): 3/4 tsp
ginger-green chilli paste: 1 tsp
salt to taste
sugar: 1 tsp
milk: 1 tbsp
finely chopped coriander (dhania): 1 tbsp
lemon juice: 2 tsp
Preparation method
Take a broad non-stick pan, pour oil, heat and add the mustard seeds. Add the asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame, add onions and sauté on a medium flame.
Add green peas, salt, 2 tbsp of water and turmeric powder, mix well.
Cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, stirr occasionally. Take beaten rice in a sieve, hold under running water, drain excess water.
Add the drained beaten rice, lemon juice, ginger-green chilli paste, lemon juice, milk sugar and a little salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, stirr occasionally.
Add the coriander, mix and keep for cooling.
