Typhoon Fitow butted into China's east coast on Monday morning, wadding winds of more than 200 kilometers, shortly after hundreds and thousands of people were evacuated from the area.

Besides killing four locals killed in Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, the storm destroyed homes, farmlands, airports and closing ports.

Flight and train services in Zhejiang province, south of Shanghai, remained suspended.

In Wenzhou city in Zhejiang province, the storm consumed over 1,700 houses and 46,800 hectares of crop land.

This is the twenty-third typhoon to hit China this year.
