The violence which took place on the Osmania University campus on Wednesday was expressed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Zone) R. Jaya Lakshmi who said that that the Protesting Telangana students vigorously stroked stones on policemen after being obstructed from taking out a bike-rally in support of the ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme on June 14. The incident further turned with a different impact when the cops were known to have fired teargas shells on them.
Initially the Pro-Telangana students affiliated to Telangana Vidyarthi Parishad, desired to take out a rally from the OU claiming to meet ministers to get their swaying movement for the proposed ‘Chalo Assembly’, intensified slogans at the same time disagreed with police over actuality of permission.
The prominent factor sustains that the Hyderabad Police has already refused to give any permission and mentioned it not to be given towards the proposed Telangana Joint Action Committee sponsored ‘Chalo Assembly’ at the same time cautioned of initiating uncompromising action against those who intend to break the law. The TJAC has called for ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme due to the fact of postponement caused regarding establishing Telangana state.
