The Congress has made it clear that the decision on formation of Telangana was not an easy one. The Congress party’s flip flop statement on bifurcation of the state was told many a time at many press conferences after the Centre announced on December 9, 2009 that the process of formation of Telangana State would be initiated and the appropriate resolution will be moved in the state assembly.
In a fresh statement, the Congress official spokesperson, Manish Tiwari has reiterated that Telangana issue was a sensitive one and that it was not easy to bifurcate since there had been many arguments on the subject. Nevertheless, the Government had been holding talks with different sections of the society on the same subject, he added.
He made these statements in the wake of suspension of MPs from Telangana region. He stressed that their party had been trying for finding out a solution to the problem and also said that they should also concentrate the challenges of the country besides other burning problems.
Suspension was pre-planned: TDP
Meanwhile, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has said that the Congress party willfully provoked the Telangana MPs. He cited at MPs meeting Vayalar Ravi in the morning on the first day of the second part of budget session. Babu accused that the Congress allegedly wanted to shift the house’s focus from Abhishek Singhvi CDs controversy and other issues that kept party in a fix.
If the Congress had really pre-planned it, why is it that TDP leaders gave a request letter the speaker for cancellation of Question Hour to take up debate on Telangana issue is the question that undoubtedly raise the eyebrows. (Phani)
