The Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has hailed the Congress MPs from Telangana region who were suspended for four days from Lok Sabha. He has said that while YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been fighting for the post, the MPs today were even ready to sacrifice their posts for the welfare of the public.
He has said that the students in Telangana region have been resorting to suicides and that’s the reason why the MPs raised this issue in the parliament, he added. He has also said that MPs were suspended to ensure smooth functioning of the house.
It may be recalled that the Congress party has today suspended eight Congress MPs for creating ruckus over Telangana issue the moment the session started on the first day of the second part of the budget session. The MPs have been suspended with immediate effect for four days.
The MPs tried to disrupt the parliament proceeding by moving towards the speaker’s well besides raising slogans in favour of Telangana state. They were even holding pla cards. The situation turned completely chaotic and the speaker immediately adjourned the house. Soon after the house resumed, the deputy speaker announced the suspension of MPs for four days. Meanwhile, MPs have said that they were ready for any kind of sacrifices and their fight for the cause will not be withdrawn. They have also said that they would stop until the Centre starts the process of formation of separate state. (Phani)
