The union minister, Vayalar Ravi, who has been deputed by the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, to look into AP affairs pertaining to the Congress party, has today left to East and West Godavari districts.
Vayalar Ravi was accompanied by the PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana. Before leaving for the tour, Vayalar Ravi spoke to the media. He has said that he was leaving for Rajamundry where he would be recording the feelings of Congress leaders.
It may be recalled that Mr. Ravi reached AP a few days back. There are so much of news in the air that Congress people are unhappy with Kiran Kumar Reddy. Notably, Ravi started consultation process when Kiran left for Delhi to take part in the all India chief ministers’ meet on internal security. Although the meeting was concluded, CM was busy meeting several ministers in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Vayalar Ravi has said that he had spoken with Kiran Kumar Reddy over telephone last night and discussed about the party affairs.
While Ravi is apparently in the state to record statements over the change of leadership in the state, he made it clear that the main agenda behind his tour was by-poll strategy. It has to be mentioned here that the Congress hasn’t announced the list of candidates contesting by-polls in 18 constituencies. (Phani)
