Congress president Sonia Gandhi called Modi led BPJ government as 'arrogant' for not considering and ignoring Congress chief ministers before the Naga peace deal. She alleged that the government has insulted the people belonging to northeast India.
Sonia told reporters that, "The accord may be historic, but the chief ministers of the state that would be directly affected were not consulted. Doesn't this show the arrogance of the government,"

"This government keeps on saying that it will take all the chief ministers together. But this step shows that the government is arrogant. It is an insult to the chief ministers and the people of the state," Sonia added.
"We're actually shocked, that PM didn't even think of taking into confidence our CMs. He did not even think of taking into confidence our Manipur CM, Assam CM, Arunachal Pradesh CM who are directly affected.”
Attacking Modi, Rahul Gandhi also raised voice over the Naga peace deal by saying that the government suppressed three states Manipur, Assam and Arunachal.
