Union Minister of State for Human Resources Ms Purandhareswari said the congress party leadership will take steps to ensure that the adverse influence of the results of assembly elections in five states doesn’t fall on the by-polls in state.
Speaking to media persons in Rajahmundry today, she said the party leadership will have introspection over the results. “We will take steps to strengthen the party by finding out the flaws at the organizational level and eliminating them,” she observed.
Remarking that the party improved its performance in UP but failed to make inroads in Punjab, she said the leadership will not keep quiet over the results. “Steps will be taken to resurrect the party,” she said.
Speaking about the Bill on reservations for women, Purandhareswari said the bill would be passed only with the full cooperation of all parties. (J)
