Some Telangana congress leaders have reportedly requested the party high command not to send mega star Chiranjeevi for the party campaign in the by polls in Telangana.

Former minister Ramreddy Venkat Reddy told newspersons he would cancel the proposed bus yatra as part of the congress campaign if Chiru was asked to take up campaigning in the by polls in the Telangana area.

“There is no question of my touring the areas and we will cancel even the bus yatra. In which capacity he will tour the Telangana area?” he asked angrily.

When asked for the reasons for objecting to the party campaign by Chiranjeevi, he said the mega star had objected to the demand for formation of Telangana as head of the PRP and his campaign would only result in congress losing.

Reports said several other senior T congress leaders had also complained to the party high command against the proposal to send the actor for campaigning in the Telangana areas.

Meanwhile, the congress leadership has prepared a roadmap for the party campaign by CM Kirankumar reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Chiranjeevi in the six Telangana assembly constituencies for the March 18 by polls. (J)
