PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana thanked the Eenadu daily today for establishing that he and his family members owned only 11 wine shops in Vijayanagaram district.
Responding to the daily’s story published in today’s edition, Botsa told media persons at the party office in Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad that the Ramoji daily didn’t publish any new things.
“I said several times my people had owned wine shops and the Telugu daily wrote about the same thing,” he said. “I thank the daily for revealing my people had owned only 11wine shops,” he said repeatedly.
Privatization of RTC on the anvil: Botsa
Botsa said the government has been toying with the idea of privatizing RTC in a phased manner. “But before that, we will make it into zones and give targets to the different zones,” he said.
Botsa said operators can run the buses in new routes in the initial stages,” he said indicating that the RTC would be privatized in several stages on a permanent basis.
Meanwhile, left parties have threatened to launch an agitation to prevent the Government from going ahead with privatization of RTC. (J)
