CM Kiran kumar reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana came under fire from the T congress lobby today following the party’s rout in the March 18 by polls.
Senior congress leader Mr K. Keshava Rao and former minister Mr Sankara Rao, both hailing from the Telangana region, demanded the resignation of Kirankumar and Botsa Satyanarayana owing moral responsibility for the party’s defeat in the by polls.
Addressing separate media conferences in Hyderabad, both of them said Kirankumar had harped on developmental issues and sought votes in by polls from the Telangana masses. “He forgot that implementation of developmental programmes could only be a part of the government responsibility and development can’t bring votes," they said.
"Is development a charity for Telangana people?" they asked angrily.
Sankara Rao has said that he cautioned Kirankumar and Botsa Satyanarayana against harping on developmental issues in the by polls. “Telangana issue is a fully sentimental and emotional one and Kirankumar has denigrated the self respect of the Telangana people by ignoring the sentiments,” he said.
Keshava rao also demanded the resignation of both Kirankumar and Botsa Satyanarayana accepting moral responsibility for the party’s defeat. (J)
