The `King Maker’ of the day is none other than the senior most Congress leader who is giving sleepless nights to the Chief Minister. Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) had on Monday given details of the interrogation report of the PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana. Botsa was named as the `Witness No: 17’ in the EMAAR case. The present Transport Minister was then (2004-02) was the Minister for Industries. CBI questioned the Minister on 11 October 2011. CBI’s revelations only go on to prove that the clever Minister has temporarily washed his hands off the issue by blaming the officers-in-charge, during the period. The CBI made the submission to the court.
As per the report, Botsa was not consulted on the issue by the then Principal Secretary K V Rao, in spite of the leader holding a key portfolio, then. He also said that on GO 22, he had sent comments on 07 February 2005 to then Chief Minister late Y S Rajashekar Reddy. However no amendments were made on the GO. He also disclosed that he had sent a secret note on GO 22 earlier on 2 February 2005, to the CM.
The above is the report submitted by the investigating agency to the court in a nutshell. Now let us analyze what political speculators feel on the issue. Firstly the rife between K V Rao and the Minister was much evident and could this be clever ploy by the later. As the rife was much visible if one closely watches the proceedings in the Volkswagon case too. Next the Minister also seemed to have declared that the then APIIC MD, B P Acharya is the key person involved in the EMAAR issue. Now an interesting issue that needs to be mentioned here is by pulling the strings on the officer, Botsa seemed to have not involved any politician in the issue. This only means no immediate controversies to the `King Maker’.
Next about the active involvement of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has also not been mentioned in the report. Diplomatically no enemies for the leader, immediately. Another notable aspect is that the leader has also not mentioned the involvement of his close associate and mentor former advisor Ramachandra Rao.
Now the unanswered questions are, does Botsa feel that EMAAR schemed up the issues without the knowledge of the then CM YSR? Because as per the details brought to the notice till now, there is no mention of this angle. Does this mean that the leader played a safe ploy? Is the CBI convinced with this? Will the charge sheet in the near offing, as the custody period of seniors is approaching the ninety days limit? Only time will tell the future course of action.
