Air pollution has become a significant issue in modern times, and its impact on our health is substantial. In order to maintain our well-being and mitigate the effects of air pollution, such as respiratory problems, it is essential to engage in breathing exercises for at least thirty minutes daily. Today, we will explore various breathing exercises that promote lung health.

One of these exercises is diaphragmatic breathing. Find a comfortable seated position with your knees bent, and place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen. Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your belly to expand. As you exhale slowly through your mouth, you will feel the relaxation in your abdominal area. Repeat this process multiple times.

Another exercise is pursed-lip breathing. Inhale through your nose for two seconds, followed by a four-second exhale through your mouth. This technique helps regulate your breathing and keeps your airways open for extended periods.

For alternate nostril breathing, sit comfortably with a straight spine. Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and inhale deeply through your left nostril. Next, close your left nostril with your right ring finger and release your right nostril. Inhale and exhale through your right nostril. Repeat this exercise for several cycles.

Lastly, we have chest breathing. Stand or sit in a comfortable position, and place your hands on your chest. Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your chest to rise. Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling the release of tension in your chest. Repeat this process as desired.

By incorporating these breathing exercises into your daily routine, you can improve your lung health and counteract the negative effects of air pollution.

1. Achieve a state of comfort whether you're seated or standing.

2. Take a deep breath in through your nostrils, allowing your chest to expand.

3. Exhale through your mouth.

4. Concentrate on expanding your chest as you inhale deeply.

Lion's Roar Breathing Technique:

1. Find a comfortable position, either kneeling or sitting.

2. Inhale deeply through your nose.

3. Exhale forcefully through your mouth, then extend your tongue and let out a roaring sound like a lion.

4. This exercise aids in relieving pressure in the chest and throat region.
