Samsung is taking a long time to release the Android 15 based version of One UI. However, some of the big changes in One UI version 7 may cause confusion about how Samsung is planning the upcoming One UI. Published. Samsung is reportedly ending support for the PC connection method known as DX with the release of One UI 7. This news was not exactly confirmed by the brand, but the available evidence suggests that changes are imminent.

Samsung recognizes the value of connecting a mobile device to a desktop computer and is one of the few brands to offer DeX on its high-end phones. In fact, you can project your phone screen onto a larger monitor and seamlessly transfer files between the two devices. However, the Galaxy S25 models are unlikely to have this feature. The update is available through Samsung's website, which states that DeX for Windows PC no longer supports One UI 7. The Windows app for DeX will no longer work, and Samsung has an alternative for those who still want to use the feature.

Windows PCs now have their own Link to Windows feature that takes advantage of Microsoft's built-in phone-to-PC connection feature. This will replace the DeX Windows app and allow users to continue using the feature through the app for the coming months. The One UI 7 beta is coming soon, and we'll get a better look at this change when it's available for testing.
