WhatsApp has emerged as the most successful cross-platform instant messaging application over the past years, boasting of 250 million active users across the globe.
Seeing its ever-growing popularity, WhatsApp has been made free for all iOS phones.
Formerly, WhatsApp was free for all Android phones. It charged $0.99 on iOS though.
Apple makers believe that doing so will boost the sale of iPhones.
However, WhatsApp would charge $1 every year after the first year. But then, that’s applicable for Android phones as well.
WhatsApp is among those rare free services that doesn’t earn moolahs by serving ads to users, nor does it advertise its services anywhere, unlike close rival WeChat.
