WhatsApp for iOS has added some new features in its latest update. Adds the option to apply augmented reality (AR) effects and backgrounds when using the camera through the app. The instant messaging platform is making it easier to share documents with other users thanks to a new document scanning feature built into WhatsApp's file sharing options. Notably, it was previously reported that these features were discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp and are now being rolled out on a large scale. The WhatsApp app for iOS, version 24.25.93, was first discovered by WABetaInfo feature tracker and brings several new features. AR effects are now available to users and can be applied via the camera. This option appears as an image node icon next to the gallery icon in the WhatsApp camera viewfinder. Users can apply augmented reality effects such as confetti, star windows, tears, underwater, glow and karaoke. WhatsApp is also introducing new backgrounds to hide the surroundings and allow users to customize the colors of their videos.
Another important feature of the instant messaging platform is the ability to scan documents directly from the app. This option appears in the Document Sharing window and is listed as "Scan Document." Includes filters such as color, grayscale and black and white. When a picture is taken, WhatsApp automatically crops the image and can also change the size of the border. Users can also toggle an auto shutter option that allows the app to automatically take photos when documents are positioned correctly in the camera's viewfinder. The development comes after the instant messaging platform introduced some fun new features to improve the texting and calling experience for the New Year.
