After a hattrick goal with a Pakistan match, Sunil Chhetri joins Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo and becomes the fourth international player to achieve this 90-goal record. This is the fourth hat trick goal for the Indian footballer. In the 15th and 74th minutes, he managed to convert the penalties into goals and made India win the SAFF Championship title.

In the second half Indian coach Igor Stimac was shown a red card for pulling back the ball from the Pakistani player Abdullah Iqbal.
