Saif Ali Khan, a Bollywood actor, has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai following a knife attack at his Bandra residence on January 16. After the incident, Saif was seen leaving the hospital and entering his car, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He was later photographed at the apartment building where the attack took place. Saif's wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and daughter, Sara Ali Khan, were previously seen arriving at the hospital. Saif sustained multiple stab wounds, including a significant injury to his thoracic spine, which required surgery to remove knife fragments. He underwent two critical procedures, including neurosurgery and plastic surgery. Kareena Kapoor was also seen leaving the Lilavati hospital. It is reported that Saif will soon be discharged from the hospital. The alleged attacker, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a Bangladeshi national living in India without valid identity documents, has confessed to the crime. He was produced in a Bandra court on Sunday and was remanded to five days of police custody for further investigation.
The evidence against Shahzad includes fingerprints found at the crime scene that match his. Investigators discovered his fingerprints on the bathroom window he used to enter and exit the house, the duct shaft, and the ladder he climbed to get into the building. As part of the investigation, the police took Shahzad to Saif Ali Khan's residence and asked him to recreate the sequence of events, explaining how he gained access to the building and fled after confronting the actor. Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed frustration on social media, accusing the paparazzi of invading her family's privacy during this difficult time and asking them to leave the family alone.
