Ms Dhoni, the only captain in the world to win all the ICC trophies. Captain cool has amazed us many times with his breath taking shots. MSD has been nominated for the prestigious Padma Bhusan award by BCCI on Wednesday.
With this nomination, former Indian captain has joined the club comprising of Cottari Nayudu, Vinoo Mankand, Sunil Gavaskar, Raja Bhalendra Singh, Dinkar Balwant Deodhar, Kapil Dev, Chandu Borde and Rahul Dravid.
A senior BCCI official has confirmed that the cricket governing body of India has only sent Ms-Dhoni’s name for the Padma awards this year.
This Wicketkeeper- Batsman has made immense contributions to Indian cricket. There was no doubt among the members that Dhoni has a great track record and has been exceptional as both captain and as a player.
He has two world titles i.e., 2011 50 over world cup and world T20, nearly 10,000 runs and 90 test matches in his bag of credits.
BCCI said that there is no one better than him to be nominated for this prestigious award.
After stepping down from the post of captaincy, Dhoni has been in tremendous form with the bat. This year continues to be a memorable one for the cricketer not only with bat but with gloves too. The 36 years old became the first wicket-keeper to effect 100 stumping and also 6th Indian Batsman to feature in 300 ODI’S.
