No sooner Bollywood actor and philanthropist Aamir Khan initiated a drive to raise funds for the flood victims of the disaster-hit Uttarakhand, industry people flocked by scores to render their support for the cause. Among the first few to lend their support to Aamir was ailing actor Hrithik Roshan who is believed to have donated Rs. 25 lakh for the flood relief work.

Aamir Khan is believed to have donated the same amount of money for the cause.

Hrithik sent the cheque for Aamir through his secretary, Ashok Vashodia, just a day before he went for his surgery. The cheque was delivered to Aamir Khan on the sets of Dhoom: 3.

Affirming the news, the fast-recovering Hrithik said, “One must do what one can to help others in need. It must become part of your belief system and must start at home. Also, I believe one must talk about his charities. The old belief of 'self-glorification' giving and not talking about it does not serve the higher purpose of teaching people to give and propagating the idea. We must set examples so that others may follow. Among all the negatives in the world, the positives must not go unnoticed. My thanks to Aamir for initiating this effort!”

Quiet interestingly, Aamir and Hrithik share a great camaraderie and have been seen partying together often.
