Sensational director Shankar after couple of disappointments announced Indian 2 which happens to be the sequel for Indian. Kamal Haasan is the lead actor and the film is planned on a budget of Rs 230 crores. Lyca Productions that produced Rajinikanth's 2.0 are on board as producers. The film's shoot is kept on hold due to creative differences and it never resumed. Four crew members passed away after a tragic accident on the sets of the film. There are lot of speculations going on about the film but the makers and Shankar remained tight-lipped about the controversy. Shankar announced that he would work with Ram Charan in his next and the film is a pan-Indian project.
The producers approached the Madras High Court to stall Shankar's plans as they have spent Rs 180 crores on Indian 2. The makers also promised to deposit Rs 50 crores to complete the pending shoot of the movie. The court asked Shankar and Lyca Productions to resolve the issue at the earliest outside the court. The next hearing in the Madras High Court is scheduled to take place on April 28th. Shankar issued a statement that he would complete the shoot of Indian 2 once Kamal arrives. The film is expected to hit the screens next year. Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh are the lead actors in Indian 2.
