Things look slightly grim for the Central Bureau of Investigations at the moment, which once again go on to prove that the critics were judging mostly right. Mr Vijay Sai Reddy said he was falsely implicated in the case just because he was Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s financial adviser. Mr Vijay Sai Reddy’s counsel Susheel Kumar said, “CBI made tall claims that it is a `1,246 Cr fraud. But as per the chargesheet, `19.5 Cr is all they could find.” This was his council’s argument on Friday in Hyderabad.
While granting bail to Mr Vijay Sai Reddy the high court asked him to surrender his passport and not to leave Hyderabad without the permission of the CBI. The judge also ascertained that Mr Vijay Sai Reddy, should not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to tamper with the evidence.
Pathetic situation: The CBI tried all ways to retain the intelligent Chartered Accountant but in vain. After all CBI is just a bureaucratic body and is not a political one. Initially CBI was aggressive on the Vice Chairman of Jagathi Publications and one point of time also sought permission for Narco-analysis. But unfortunately the special CBI Court denied the permission. CBI had also termed him as “an intelligent person who has donned several hats,” and said that all the financial transactions of Mr Jagan were handled by him alone.
In fact critics were predicting that the Congress High Command had been on a softer stands on Jagan owing to by-poll debacle and mainly the YSR Congress Leader speech at Kovvur after winning the lone by-poll seat. He is quoted as that his party will win the 35 MP seats in the coming elections and he assured getting the Railway ministry from the then ruling government. On another occasion he is also to have said that he would never align with the Saffron party. These two statements gave food for thoughts of the political speculators who wove a grapevine tale and that seems to be emerging now. But let us now get down to facts instead of barging over imaginations. As of now the CBI termed `King Pin’ in the Jagan’s disproportionate assets case, Mr Vijay Sai is out on bail.
