The Andhra Pradesh High Court has today cancelled bail on one of the accused in Jagan disproportionate case, Vijayasai Reddy. The court, after hearing the arguments of the CBI, gave this order. It may be noted that Vijayasai Reddy-who was arrested in January this year-was granted a conditional bail last week.
The CBI, which earlier sought the court to delay the bail order, later tried to move house motion petition seeking the cancellation of bail granted to Vijayasai Reddy. The Chief Justice, however, denied the same and the formal bail cancellation petition was filed the next day.
The High Court has asked the CBI as to why it had arrested only Vijayasai Reddy while other accused were not arrested. CBI gave strong arguments stating that Vijayasai Reddy tried to press the key witnesses and didn’t support them in the enquiry. The CBI sleuths have also argued that they had documents and evidences to prove that Vijayasai Reddy has the capability to manipulate the evidences and witnesses.
The court, after deferring the hearing twice, today cancelled the bail and ordered Vijayasai Reddy to surrender to the CBI. It is known that Vijayasai Reddy is accused number two in CBI’s charge sheet against disproportionate case. (Phani)
