Signature tune for the 17th Mumbai Film Festival is composed by A.R. Rahman, an Oscar-winning composer. The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) is organizing the 17th Mumbai Film Festival from 29 October 2015 to November 2015. For the first time the festival is having signature tune.

Rahman said in a statement that, “The festival is about creating, celebrating and nurturing cinema. I am very pleased to support the festival. I hope the people of Mumbai and other parts of India come and partake in this incredible movie feast.”

A special promo film will feature the signature tune. The will be played during the17th Mumbai Film Festival. At present, the tune is featured the festival campaign film opening and closing as well. On October 29, at its opening ceremony, the song would be featured completely.

Director of the 17th Mumbai Film Festival, Anupama Chopra said, “Movies and music are inseparable in India. It’s such an honour to have one of India’s greatest composers, A.R. Rahman, create a signature tune. We are grateful for his generosity and support. We are also grateful to all the work put in by Vikramaditya Motwane and his team, and all the talent that made time for the festival.”

Vikramaditya Motwane directed campaign film of the festival features A-list names including Amitabh Bachchan, Shyam Benegal, Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Kangana Ranaut, and Kiran Rao, the festival chairman.

The film feature celebrities narrating personal stories that include their personal relationship with Mumbai as well as their cinema passion. This campaign film is expected to be released across platforms and to be played across PVR Cinemas in India.
